Swallows against blue sky is the favourite plot of an antique mosaic. Ancient Greeks considered swallows as birds bringing spring, and the image of these birds accelerates its arrival. But even when it is cloudy and cold, and all swallows have departed to warm countries, how pleasant it is to see the blue sky and to recollect the summer! This sundial is made of smalt slices. This blue sky will never grow dull, and these swallows will not depart and will be with you always.

Slices of smalt in the size of 10х10 mm are laid on the concrete basis. The disk thickness is 45 mm. Diameter 850 mm is large enough to cover a technical hatch which always inopportunely appears on a lawn or flower bed foreground. The weight is about 40 kg. Price 120 000 RUR.

Anniversary line

If you buy a sundial as a gift, do not forget, please, to order an anniversary line. At the appointed day the shade on a sundial face will move along a specially calculated line. It may be a birthday, wedding day, or any other day you like.

The motto

According to a centuries-old tradition a motto or a dedication is advisable on a sundial face. You may choose a motto from the list or suggest your own one. Mottoes and anniversary lines etched on a sundials in stock are free.

Equation of time

The duration of solar day is changeable within a year. Thus the difference between clock and sundial indications may be as high as 15 min depending on the season. You may easy convert solar time into mean time and vice versa using the equation of time table or graph. Usually I make it of brass, copper or stone.
