The Time
Sculptural composition "The Time" with horizontal sundial. It was installed on August, 29th, 2009 (55°55'26,81" N, 37°59'36,90" E). It is a gift of "Shchelkovo" holding to the city of Shchelkovo. Sculptors: Seryozhin S.V., Erdyneev V. D. The dial was delineated and made by Boldyrev A.M.
The cast of bronze sculptural composition represents a figure of an aged man and a girl, supporting a sundial. The sundial is made of brass by a method of etching. It measures local and standard time at the meridian 37°59'36,90". But measuring time the device allows to measure azimuth and sun declination. It is supplied also with a nomogram for converting local time to standard time and for estimating the time of risings, sunset, and the day length.
