Sundial for Umeå

This 35 сm sundial is a present of the Laboratory of Lipid Chemistry (Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences)to Prof. Lennart B.-Å. Johansson (Umeå Universitet, Sweden). The sundial is decorated with the Umeå coat of arms. Two scales are etched on the dial, so that it can measure true solar time in Moscow and Umeå contemporarily. For converting the solar time into the Central European time the formulas of algorithm are engraved.
